What people are saying

“"I played the role of Pyram in this amazing play written by the late Frank Etienne. Abigail Whitney directed me to a level I never knew existed in my craft. She unlocked a part my soul to allow Pyram's soul to enter my body, so we can both embark on one of the most memorable performances I've ever done my my life. She's a hard worker, kind, a voracious leader and intelligent queen with a vision that seems impossible, but once you put in the work you started seeing it yourself as if she implemented it herself in your mind. It was an honor being part of this project, can't wait to work with The future legend Abigail Whitney again."”

Louco St. Fleur

Actor, Pyram

“"I enjoyed it so much. The acting, the set, the creativity.. phenomenal work. I enjoyed the script as well; insightful, convicting, topical and hilarious. It is such a wonderful thing to go see a play, let alone one that is so close to home."”

“"The Noose is a two-hander exploring relationships between men in a Haitian context. In The Noose, the added setting of American immigration to Harlem in the 1980s' makes for a densely woven text, not easy to portray all of that without it sounding like a political manifesto. Abigail directed with great sensitivity to the nuances in the relationship between the two characters. For me, Abi's great strength is as a director of actors. To borrow words from the South African novelist Bessie Head, the result was a performance of tenderness and power."”

“"The acting was fantastic. Highly enjoyable as someone from a Haitian background but it was a story that anyone would relate to. I was deeply moved and if I could give it 6 stars, I would!"”

“"The Noose was a powerful and brilliantly directed play by Abigail. As an immigrant myself, the performance deeply resonated with me, I strongly connected to the storyline and the way it captured the feeling many immigrants experience of being trapped, unable to move forward and too afraid to go back. The play moved me to tears, and its impact was so profound that I returned with my siblings to watch it again."”

““Almost a week later and still thinking about your production of The Noose- such a greaat work and so well directed by you, thank you for producing it, sharing it, and inviting us to attend. One of the best dramatic productions I’ve seen in years!"”

“"I had the privilege of seeing the play the Noos Directed by Abigail Whitney with my family in Toronto. It left a lasting impression on me as the story revolves around the very delicate relationship between two young men sharing an apartment in New York City. These roommates could not be more different apart from the fact that they are both of Haitian descent. The theme of social classe is explored in a touching and humorous manner. Laughters were had, tears were shed, leaving me feeling filled with a sense of joy as inpite of their differences, these two men were there for each other in the end. They did finally find a common ground, being both social outcasts in the city that never sleeps. This play is truly remarkable and it is relatable no matter what your background is."”
