Abigail Whitney was an assistant film director to Jamie Robinson, Ngozi Paul, Sarah Waisvisz and Mike Payette on four out of 21 of Obsidian Theatre Company's 21 Black Futures short films. This anthology series, which aired on CBC Gem, received the 2022 Canadian Screen Awards for Best Web Program or Series, Fiction.


MADNESS WITH ROCK

The story: A warrior tries to come to terms with the extinction of his tribe through modernization. With only a rock as his connection to mother nature, the warrior must use poetry, fables and childhood stories to regain his culture.

The story: The viewer is invited onto a training session as an emergency services dispatcher.

The story: Sensitivity explores the state of mind of Gabriaela after she is fired for leading a racial sensitivity training seminar that goes terribly awry.
